HORSE POWERED SERVICES
Tradition and Sustainability: Partnering with Horses and Nature
By using horse-powered techniques, we can get to places that modern machinery just can’t reach. Our horses are great at accessing sensitive areas while keeping the environmental impact low. Plus, using horses is not only good for the environment; it also boosts public relations by providing an interesting talking point and photo op. As a result, we’ve caught the eye of news outlets and even made it onto national TV after being seen in London parks!
Our services include bracken rolling, hay making, land management, logging, and forestry. We’re fully insured to handle all these services.

Logging
Using horse power for logging is gaining popularity as a sustainable way to manage woodlands. Opting for horses instead of modern machinery greatly reduces soil compaction, helping us keep the surrounding environment undisturbed. Horses can also navigate architecturally significant areas, easily moving under bridges or around ancient woodlands and wildflowers. We’re proud to be approved members and contractors of British horse logging.
Bracken rolling
Bracken is an aggressive invader that pushes out wildflowers and other native plants.
We use horse-powered techniques to navigate heathlands, steep hillsides, and conservation sites.
Our approach involves rolling over the stems to “bruise” them, which gradually weakens the plant and curbs its regrowth.
Hay Making
We’re thrilled to announce that, thanks to the Surrey Hills Farming and Protected Landscape Scheme, we’ve secured funding to buy a new baler. Indeed, this wouldn’t have happened without the amazing support from Surrey Hills Enterprises.
Moreover, this exciting addition allows us to handle all parts of haymaking, from start to finish, using just horsepower. Consequently, it keeps us working closely with our horses and staying true to our sustainability values. Ultimately, this helps us reduce our environmental impact.
Land maintenance
We tailor our services to meet the specific needs of your land. After conducting a site visit, we will actively advise you on how we can help maintain your land, including grass cutting, bracken rolling, logging, and forestry management.
If there’s a service we don’t directly offer, we collaborate with a network of other horse-powered contractors and seamlessly combine services as needed.
