Lesson Information
No previous experience in horse or carriage driving is necessary; we welcome complete beginners. We offer lessons for children aged 4 years and older. Our goal is to make our sport as accessible as possible, and we can accommodate individuals with additional needs, including the use of our wheelchair-friendly carriages. As an instructor with the Stella Hancock Carriage Driving Group, Dan is highly skilled at adapting his lessons to meet individual requirements.
For those who already have driving experience, we can focus on refining your skills and offer guidance for those interested in competing.
What to expect during your lesson
In the first part of the lesson, I will introduce you to the harness components, explaining their functions and how to fit them properly. Next, we will attach the carriage.
I will then demonstrate the correct technique for mounting the carriage, handling the reins, and using voice commands.
Following this, we will head out for a drive along the lanes and forest tracks. Upon returning to the yard, we will unhitch and remove the harness from the carriage.
Prices
Lessons are available on both weekdays and weekends at the following rates:
£50 for a 1-hour one-on-one session
£70 for a 1.5-hour session
£90 for a 2-hour session
